How do we keep a straight face?

Julia is still being very stubborn about potty training. So tonight she and Chris had been on the couch watching Tinkerbelle. I came up from downstairs, and she is on the floor being changed, and she asked Chris if he was mad at her. He told her he was so I asked what happened. She had peed thru her Pull-Up and got the couch wet so he was aggravated. So I said to Julia with an agitated tone, "Julia when are you going to stop being a baby and go on the potty?"

Her response, "I get bigger on Monday, Mommy."

LOL!

Funny Stuff.....

Last night I was sitting in the kitchen, Julia was standing next to me, and Charlotte was in her high chair making some noise. I wasn't really paying attention and Julia said something. I thought nothing of it until a minute later she says to me, "I didn't say shut up, Mommy." Which MEANS "I just said shut up." So I said, "I certainly hope you did not say shut up. We do not say that." So Julia clarified and said, "Mommy, I would not say shut up to you. I would say it to Charlotte." LOL

What is funny about her is she totally gives herself away when she does something naughty. And, the ironic part is apparently Chris did that when he was little. Sunday morning I was still in bed (thank you dear hubby who is now in Dallas on business and also doing touristy things;-), and Julia waltzed in (loudly, as usual-if the door does not slam against the wall she has not made a proper entrance). So she is blabbing to me about something, and I wasn't watching her. All of a sudden the door slammed behind her and she was gone. Chris caught her with my glasses. She told him she was holding them for me. She is so subtle!

Charlotte is making huge progress in her walking. Tonight when I went to pick her up from daycare her teacher told me she got a sticker for walking, and she had her walk over to me-about 8 steps. That is the most she has done so far. And, she gets sooooo proud. It is so cute!

Oh, and Sunday we took the girls to the really cool playground at the mall. Julia made friends with another little boy named Garrett. They were adorable together playing tag. Then, when we were at Abercrombie and Fitch so Julia could do her obligatory dance with the large poster of the male model Garrett made his way in because, he too, likes to dance there! Fate, or what? Lol His parents considered us lucky. Julia just likes to dance in the front. Garrett has to do a round through the whole store. He had some great moves!

I've uploaded some random pics from the past couple of days. Enjoy!

Soooooooo funny........

Julia had us laugh out loud last night. We had dinner, and then I gave her a bowl of grapes. She is so sweet and generous, picked out the biggest grape, and said, "Here Daddy. You can have the biggest one." So Chris jokingly told her to put her bowl of grapes between them, and he promised he would not eat any. She looked at him for a minute, moved her bowl between them and said, "Don't lie to me Daddy". We were dying!

Julia, Chris, and I were hanging out in my bed watching football last night. It's a riot that Julia will sit and watch and ennjoy it. She asks about plays and everything. So she puts her foot up to my chin and asks me to tickle it with my goatee! She seemed to think I had one since Daddy does. I had to convince her I do not.

Charlotte's new favorite word is "no". She says no to everything, and many times it is with a smile. She is sooooo lazy and does not want to walk. We are constantly reminding her to stand up. Sometimes she does and sometimes she simply tells us no and doesn't, lol. She did hae a ball last night while we were grooving to their singing teddy bear (thank you Auntie Lulu-gift from when J was a baby!), and Charlotte stood up and wiggled her arms like crazy to the music. Julia was dancing naked in all her glory and having a blast. Those are the best times!

Last weekend we went to visit my 90 year old Grandfather. He still drives himself around and lives by himself. He is incredible and adores the girls! The great pics from there were taken by our favorite cousin ("Auntie" Jaime).

Notice the pic below with the edamame in Julia's nose. Chris told her it would only fit if she ate the edamame inside first. It got her to eat them!

And, lastly, we have finally ended our pet search. We hav two adorable kittens, and the girls love them, and they are really tolerant of a 3 and 1 year old being in their face. G is 13 weeks and Odie is coming up on 11. I can't remember if I told the story of G's name here, but it was the letter of the day at school for Julia. We asked her what she wanted to name him and sh said "G like an umbrella". Their phonics program teaches them how to draw the letters and a lower case g does sort of look like an umbrella. So there ya go!

Enjoy the pics!

Pics Pics Pics

Also included is our new first kitten. He is 12 weeks old and Julia named him "G like an umbrella" lol. They were learning the letter in school and they do a phonics system, and when you draw it it is sort of like an umbrella. G stuck! He is 12 weeks old, and we also have a new 8 week old black kitten who we have yet to name and get pics of!

She Truly is my kid!

I came across a recent drawing of Julia's from daycare. And, on it was written (obviously by the teacher word for word from Julia's mouth) "My best friend is Mikayla M., and we like to play in CHOCOLATES". Me too baby girl!!!

"My pee hurts....."

I am sure she will kill me when she is older, but I have to share this.

This weekend Chris had Julia do little tasks around the house to be a "big helper". So he had her pick up leaves from the floor downstairs that have dragged in (construction zone). So later in the day she told Chris her pee hurt. He thought maybe she just had diaper (er, PullUp) rash so didn't think much of it. When he went to go change her later she had crushed up leaves in her you know what and bum!!!!!

What is she doing!??! Last week it was sand, lol. Oh the treasures we'll find.........

Trick or Treat!

Chris took the girls trick or treating while Mommy was on her way to a spa in Stow, VT with Auntie Jen. Charlotte had spiked a fever that day, but it was down by evening so Chris bundled her up in the stroller and the three of them went door to door.

I am so incredibly proud of my mean witch. Chris told me at every house she would say trick or treat, and then ask for some candy for her baby sister. She would get the candy for Charlotte and come off the steps or away from the door and put the candy in Charlotte's pumpkin. She is so incredibly thoughtful.

As you can see from the pics Charlotte looked more like a wilted flower than a happy flower! She really wasn't feeling good :-(, but it was still cute.

Julia and Daddy baked a Halloween cake for school. I thought it was so cute!

And, Julia's class had a Halloween party. They did bobbing for grapes. Julia totally did not get why you woud stick your head in the water to get grapes when it is so much easier to use your hands. It was pretty funny, but she finally went all in, lol.

By the end of my weekend away I missed my girls tremendously. I could not wait for my hug when I got back home. Auntie Jen and I walked in the door, and I said a very enthusiastic hello, and Julia screams "Auntie Jen!" and runs to Jen to hug her. Well, Charlotte was happy to see me, lol.

It is amazing how much more Charlotte was from the time I left Friday to when I returned Sunday. She is repeating everything, and saying appropriate words without prompting (ball when she sees ball, hello when she sees the phone etc.....). On Saturday Chris made macaroni with meatballs and veggies. Charlotte is pretty adamant about her dislike of anything green. Chris gave her a bowl of mac and meatballs mixed with veggies. She picked out and ate all the meatballs and macaroni, and then she whipped the bow with the veggies to the floor. Chris then tried to stick a green bean inside a piece of penne. Charlotte managed to eat the pasta, spit the green bean out, and then she slammed her hand on the table and grunted at Chris. She was pissed!

She is still taking her time with the walking. She takes maybe one step then drops to the floor. She is 17 months. No rush! lol

That's all for now. Enjoy the pics!
