Funny title, huh? The insult is even funnier.
Those of you that know Julia first hand know that she can be fresh! What kid isn't, but she loves to attempt to push Mommy's buttons. Well, the other night we were in the kitchen while I was making dinner. She proceeds to go down the stairs where Chris is on a work call. I tell her not to go downstairs, and, surprisingly :-) she does not listen. So I go down the stairs and take her hand and guide her (ever so lovingly, lol) up the stairs. We get upstairs, and I shut the gate so she can't go back down. Well, she did not like that. I was doing something at the sink half listening to her, and at the same time Chris was making his way upstairs. She was using her indignant tone and said (not directly to me-to anybody) "I THROW BOOGIES AT YOU!" And, she made the throwing motion with her arm. That was the worst her little 2.5 year old mind could come up with. Chris and I have been laughing about that ever since.
Julia is extremely modest ;-). Monday morning I dressed her in a skirt and tights, and I told her how pretty she was. Chris took her to daycare to drop her off. She walked in, whipped off her jacket, and exclaimed to her teacher "I'm so pretty!!". We really need to work on her self esteem ;-)
One of Chris' favorite things she does (and mine too) is when she is trying to do something, having a hard time, and we try to help her. "I DO IT!!" She loves to try and do things on her own, and she is quite determined. Hopefully that attribute will be life long.
And, I think I have posted about this before, but we had another cute "Uncle Brian" episode. Saturday night we were driving home from Rhode Island. Julia saw the stars in the sky and exlaimed "I see stars". And, I said "Aren't they so pretty?" Her reply, "Uncle Brian in the stars." I said, "Julia, it's not Uncle Brian it's ORION (constellation). I said that slowly to her to enunciate so she would understand, but her reply was "No, Mommy UNCLE BRIAN" which she exaggerated so I would understand. At that point, we just agreed with her, lol.
And, the last Julia story for today is how she is the cutest little Mommy. She has a Dora doll that she pretends is her baby. She walks aroud with Dora wrapped up in a dress up dress (that fits Julia), and tells us the baby is sleeping. She refers to the baby as "Honey" and says things like "Aw, hunny", and last night Chris watched her lift Dora up to the front window and say "You want to look outside, Honey?" She also asked me for a brush so she could brush her hair and "make her pretty".
We cannot get enough of this kid. She brings so much joy (and a little bit of frustration, lol!), and we wouldn't trade her for the world.
OH YEAH! WE HAVE ANOTHER KID! ;-)
Charlotte is doing great despite another cold. She is 9 months old now, 18.2 pounds and rolling. She is taking her time with crawling (the later the better, IMO!-it's all over for me when she is totally mobile!), although she has gotten herself up on her knees a few times. She's not quite sure what to do once she gets there though! She is a favorite at daycare and so many people have been telling us she looks like a porcelain doll. You always think your child is beautiful, but it's YOUR child. Of course you will think that! It's nice when other people notice their beauty as well.
I could not love my girls more. We are very blessed! More pics to come when camera batteries get replaced!
