We went on a week long cruise last week, and Auntie Jaime watched the girls (flawlessly!), and on the last day our friend's Jamie and Christine came to watch them.
Christine told us this story when we got home;
She has been out of practice with changing diapers so she changed Charlotte, stood her up, and asked Julia if it looked ok. Julia looked Charlotte over, rolled her eyes, and said, "No". Christine asked what Mommy does differently. Julia said (with some disgust), "She pulls her pants up." LOL!
The other night we were drawing with chalk on the driveway, and Julia was writing words. She was on "Daddy", and she spelled "D-A-D-D", and then she told me she did not know how to make a Y. I was getting ready to answer her, and she said "forget it. I'll just make a K". LOL!
Charlotte walked into the kitchen after being out with Daddy, and she had what looked, to me, chocolate munchkin crumbs on her face. I said, "Did you have a munchkin?" (I was actually quite shocked because up until then she would not eat cake or donuts!) So she gets a look of confusion on her face, shrugs her shoulders with her arms up, and tells me she had nothing. Did I tell you she had crumbs on her face?? LOL! So I asked her again, and she again denied it! Then Daddy confirmed it. I don't know why she felt she had to lie, but it seems to be her new trend!
Last night we had dinner, and then she had an orange, and she asked for an apple. I said no because she had had plenty to eat. She asked me a couple more times, and I told her no each time. She walked around the table to Chris and asked him if she could have an apple. This is a big nono in our house, as they are not allowed to ask the other parent if one says no. But, she is still young and doesn't get it. However, Chris asked her if she asked Mommy already, and she said "No, I did not ask Mommy?" She had a glimmer in her eye and knew she was lying, but that didn't stop her! She got a little talking to about lying, and a few tears were shed.
Then, about 30 minutes after bedtime she yells down that she has poop. She KNOWS we HAVE to check because we can't let her sleep in poop, and 99% of the time she is lying! It will be that one time I don't check that she is in poop and ends up with a massive rash. So I went in, did not smell anything, and yelled at her for lying. Well, you would have thought I was in the wrong as she cried like crazy! She cried so convincingly that I thought she DID have poop, and I was wrong for yelling at her, so I took her out of her crib and checked her diaper and NO POOP! I put her back in her crib and told her no lying.
Yes, please say a prayer for us!! LOL!
These kids make us laugh like nothing else. We love them to pieces!
