Best Seat in the House

Charlotte dragged some chairs from the corner of the living room and made herself comfortable to watch some tv. Mom, is this too close?

My Beautiful Girls

On a tire swing for the first time at the park yesterday...

Your Mommy was Cute, Too!!!!

My old childhood friend, Ross(y), put some pictures of us on Facebook from when we were little. I'm putting them here for you to have in your book (when I one day have this blog printed). I love seeing pics of my parents (your Grandparents) as kids so hopefully you enjoy these too. Mommy was cute, huh?!?! :-) In the class pic I am 2nd from right in the first row.

Fun at Lake Compounce!

We had a fantastic weekend with Auntie Ying, Uncle Wei, Andy and baby Bryan at Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT. We had never heard of it before, but Wei mentioned it to us, and we thought the girls would have a blast. They did-as well as the grownups! It is a good size amusement park with tons of little kids rides and a water park with lots of splash play areas for the kids. Of course, Charlotte was the daredevil and went down waterslides while I lovingly (impatiently) coaxed Julia to go down the slides while she held up the huge lines behind her!

We went from Friday night to Sunday afternoon, and always have a blast spending time with our friends. Julia and Andy are two peas in a pod. He just turned 4 in June so he is "older" and a lot taller! Julia is so excited to turn 4 on Aug 1, but really, she can't wait to be 5 and go to kindergarten! That is what she tells everyone, lol.

I forget what Julia did, but she was very nice to Charlotte, and I said to Charlotte (more for Julia's benefit), "Charlotte, you are so lucky to have such a great big sister!" And, Charlotte replied with "thanks!". LOL. Enjoy the pics!

The reason why Charlotte still has a binky in most pics!

Middle of the mall....many laughing onlookers.

Camera Ready

The other night I was getting Charlotte ready for bed. Julia comes in and tells me she wants to read Charlotte her bedtime stories (she knows them from memory). So she gets in the rocker and askes me to put Charlotte next to her. I do, and Julia says to me "Mommy, go get the camera". So I did! lol

It's cute NOW but has me shivering in my shoes for later!!

Tonight we were in the living room playing and being silly with the girls.

Chris took Charlotte's sippy cup and pretended to drink from it. Charlotte was in my lap and quickly got down, walked over to Chris and said, "Back! NOW! Mine!" The "NOW" sent a shiver through my spine, lol.

Then she pointed to the stairs and said "STAIRS!" to him. She was telling him to go to a time out on the stairs, which, surprisingly, is where she spends a good amount of time! He obliged and all was well with the world!

The 'tude now is too cute for words, but I fear the day it is no longer cute!

And, just another cute note about Charlotte...

Every night we read three books (the same ones because if I try to read something else she says "no" and will not let me!), and then I sing "You Are My Sunshine" to her. Without fail, every night, on the second to last page of the last book we read Charlotte goes from sitting in my lap to laying back with her binky and blankie and saying "sunshine". She is such a joy right before bed!! lol

Adorable!

Yesterday morning I dropped the girls off at school. They hads not been since the previous Wednesday.

Julia walked into her class, and a little boy named Cody came up to her and said, "I missed you, Julia." I just about died.

Then her little friend McKayla came up and was all giggles and squeals and was wringing her hands with excitement over seeing her. Then she reached out for a hug and Julia hugged her back-too cute for words!

So today when I took Julia on an errand to get her ginger ale for her sick tummy we were passing her school on the way back. With quiet confidence Julia said, "They miss me." LOL!

Perspective

Sometimes I forget I am talking to a 3(almost 4 year) old, and that she may not understand certain concepts.

She has been home sick today-was throwing up earlier. But, thankfully she is feeling better now.

She is starving and begging for breakfast (it's 3:45), and I gave her the options of toast with jelly or crackers-neither of which she wants.

She wants a bagel. I told her she could not have a bagel because they are too heavy.

She shrugged her shoulders with her palms up, and said "Bagels are not heavy. Well, maybe the bag is, but bagels are not heavy". She was totally perplexed.

It made me laugh-hard-so she just kept saying it over and over, lol.

Deja Vu!

Fun on Lake Winnipesaukee!

On Friday we went to Chris' boss' lake house for a party he was having. The place was gorgeous, and Julia even went out on a jet ski. We thought, for sure, she would chicken out, but she had a blast! We got to take a ride out on their boat and watched people get thrown around while tubing. Chris even managed a friendly game of beer pong with his boss!

On Saturday we ventured out with our friends Christine and Jamie on the in-laws boat which we have for the Summer. Aside from some technical difficulties we had a gret time, and Charlotte would have jumped overboard if we let her. She loves the water and has no fear!

On Sunday the four of us headed up to Hampton Beach. The weather was gorgeous, and we had a great day. While at the beach Julia played ski ball and won tickets to redeem for prizes. Charlotte was sleeping in the stroller completely unaware of anything going on, but Julia insisted on redeeming the tickets for prizes for herself and for Charlotte. I swear-her heart is her biggest appendage. She is just amazing!

Julia did exhibit a little bit of freshness this weekend, but she is only 4! It is just shocking when she does because she is normally so incredibly well behaved and thoughtful. On the other hand, we have Charlotte, lol. Even my Grandpa who is hard of hearing and can't hear all Charlotte's antics commented that we have our hands ful with her. It's the truth!

Charlotte said "I'll do it" last night which is her first three word sentence. Of course, it had to do with feeding herself, lol. Oh, and the binky you see in the pics? Yeah-that's not going anywhere, lol.

Enjoy!
