Dear Julia,

Last night I asked you if you knew who was sleeping over tonight, and you exclaimed, "Hannah!". She must have told you at school that she was sleeping over. Her Mommy was having a medical procedure done and asked if she could stay here for the night. So you then told me, "I told Hannah we could do anything she wanted." And, then you asked, "Mommy, do we have rules at our house?" LOL. You crack me up!

So I picked you up from school, and we come home, and you rush in and tell me all the things you guys have planned to do-makeup, duck duck goose, watch tv, play ballerina, and play doctor. So yo ask for a snack as you always do after school and you rushed to the fridge to show Hannah your beloved sherbet flavored yogurt which you wanted her to have. She said she wasn't hungry (unheard of to you!), and yo said, "but, it's sooooo good!". She still did not want one, lol.

You then went up to your room and Charlotte followed. I was so worried you were going to tell Charlotte to leave you guys alone, but you included her with open arms, and that made me really happy. You played for awhile, tried on your Halloween costume, and then watched Charlie Brown Halloween snuggled with your Pillow Pets. Hannah layed on the couch with her legs in your lap. It was very cute!

You guys are off in la la land now.

Love you,
Mommy

Dear Julia,

You broke my heart tonight. It ached for your heartache. Here is what happened.

We had already put you to bed, and I thought I heard you up. I went upstairs, and I found you on the toilet crying. I asked you what was wrong, and you told me you did not want to tell me. At first I wasn't sure if you were stalling so you did not have to go back to bed, but then I realized you were really crying. I assured you it was ok, and you could tell me what was wrong. You said, again, you did not want to tell me why you were sad, and you continued crying. I was so perplexed. You are never like this so I started getting worried that something bad happened to you, possibly at school. I asked you if something happened, and you said no, that it was about heaven. I told you you could tell me, and I would not tell anyone. You asked me to shut the bathroom door, and I did. You made me promise I wouldn't tell anyone, and then you said to me, "I don't want to die!" Oh my goodness, Julia. You knocked the wind right out of me. My heart broke! Why are you worrying about this? I hugged you tightly and told you you did not have to worry about that for a very VERY long time. I explained I am so much older than you and will not die for a very long time, and that you did not need to worry about it. I hugged you so tight. I am so sorry you are worrying about this, and I do not know why! I let you come downstairs and watch some tv to get your mind off it. When I sent you back to bed you reminded me not to tell anyone.

I am praying you are not worrying about this constantly. You ask a lot of questions about death, and I wish it did not worry you so much. I understand you are curious and confused. I am going to look into the best way to answer your questions and ease your fears. I love you SO MUCH!

Library Time!

Dear Julia,

We needed to get you a library card for school. I told you we were going to go to the library tonight, and it's the first thing you told your teacher when you got to school this morning. When I picked you up you were so excited to go.

We get to the desk, and the librarian asked how old you were. Before I could answer you blurted out "FIVE!" (with all five fingers being held up). She asked if you could write your name because that is the prerequisite to get your own library card, and you excitedly said yes. We filled out the paper work and you diligently wrote your name on your card, and then you get to pick out a free book as a gift. We went down to the children's area, and you told the librarian you just got your card. As she got up to get the box of books for you to pick from you saw a jar of candy corn on her desk. You said, "I really am hungry", and you were eyeing the corn. I told you they were not to eat, and you were trying to get the lid off which was thankfully taped!

After you picked out a Junie B Jones book we went back upstairs and picked out a movie for you and Charlotte to watch. We brought the movie up to the counter, and you told the librarian you wanted to buy it, lol!

We came home and we called Bubbe and you very excitedly told her about your library card. I am so proud of you!

I love you!

P.S. Charlotte still needs to learn the proper way of talking in the library! She was a tad loud!!
