Pictureless Post.............
Sorry-hope to be back to regular posting in about a week!!
I just have to tell a few funny stories about the girls.
The other day I was picking the girls up from daycare. Whenever I get them Julia runs to her lunch box (like Mommy like daughter!) to finish any snack she may have left over. On this particular day she went into Charlotte's lunch box and fished out some leftover cut up cheese stick. So she proceeds to open it and eat it when her little buddy Joey came up to her. Julia offered him a piece (not like Mommy, lol), and he put it in his mouth and is eating it as his mom walks in to pick him up. She was, at first, concerned about what he was eating but was fine once she found out what it was.
So we proceed to the van outside, and I am buckling Charlotte in while Julia stands next to me. Joey runs outside to us and asks Julia for another piece. Julia said no so I reminded her that we share. So she takes a piece out, hands it to Joey and says "That is it!". While saying that she completed it with her eye roll which sent Joey's mom into hysterics. Joey takes the piece and runs back to the building and Julia yells, "LOVE YOU!" Oh my God. I died right there!
Charlotte went for her belated one year checkup yesterday. She is 29.5 inches which is 50th percentile and 20.6 pounds which is 25th percentile. She better enjoy that low percent while she can! She had to have a finger pick and three shots. They pricked her finger and did what they had to do, and she didn't even flinch. The shots were another story. She screamed bloody murder, and they had to do 3. I felt horrible for her. But, it was nothing a little spaghetti and meatballs from Papa Gino's couldn't fix!
She is as big a ham as Julia was at this age. She had a ball last night eating her veggies with a fork (of course, this was after the discussion from earlier in the day where I told the doc my girls do not like eating veggies-both ate them last night!). We would put the carrot or broccoli on the fork and she'd put it in her mouth and wait for us to do a big YAAAAAAAAA and clap for her. She also enjoys throwing her cup (or anything in reach) onto the floor and exclaiming, "Uh-oh!". She also exclaims, "mommy!" all the time. She has now moved out of the baby room in daycare up to the 1 year old room, and she is loving it. That first year goes by so fast!!
And, one last Julia story from last night:
We always go to this little towny place for soft serve. Julia has always gotten hers in a cup, but then wants some bites of my cone. I don't want to share so I went ahead and got her a cone of her own last night ;-).
Well, I can deal with the mess. She was sitting in her car seat while we parked and ate our treats. It had been a few minutes since I had looked at her, but I turn around and see red-A LOT. I am not good with blood and had to censor my shock so she did not freak out. So being the attentive, proactive wife I am I tell my Chris to get out and check where the heck the red was coming from. I was worried it was from her tooth which she banged a couple weeks ago (has turned a light grey). I thought maybe it fell out.
Well, it turns out, from what Chris could tell between Julia's bites, that she bit her lip really good. She had no idea, and barely acknowledged the now bright red ice cream. Chris had to apply pressure for a good 20 minutes (all while she continued to eat the ice cream-who lets blood get in their way??).
Needless to say she is fine today-has a little cut on her lip which apparently is a badge of honor because she tells everyone she sees about it with pride. I'm so proud :-)
