Master Manipulator-so she thinks!

Julia kills us with her antics. Tonight Chris told her she had to eat 5 more bites of dinner. She holds up her hand to show five fingers then puts up 2 and says, "No, two." We won with 5. ;-)

She was not listening before dinner. Chris reprimanded her and ended up putting her in her room for a time out, and she was jumping hard in the crib. Chris told her to stop and she didn't so she lost watching Dora tonight. So we're eating dinner and she tried every angle she could think of to get him to let her watch Dora. "Daddy, I love you. Can I watch Dora?" "Daddy, I a good girl now. Can I watch Dora?" "Daddy, I love chicken. Can I watch Dora?" She is smart, but not smart enough to outsmart us, lol. Needless to say she had to settle for Curious George tonight. ;-) Yeah, we're really mean!

Best babysitter!

Julia and Charlotte love Miss Maddie. She is phenomenal with them. She is a teacher at the daycare, but she's in college so she is only here from May-August. We are going to really miss her when she goes back to school! She came this past Friday and the girls could not have cared less that we were leaving. It was all about Maddie!

Nothing really new to report. Julia pooped on the potty for the first time yesterday. We are far FAR from potty training (she's just not that interested!), but yesterday was very exciting with her deposit, lol.

Other than our house flooding from the ridiculous weather we have been having all is good!

Comments

Hey Folks,

This is a shameless request to ask you all who read the blog to take some time to leave some comments when you see something that makes you smile, laugh etc. This blog is, essentially, Julia and Charlotte's baby books. We're eventually going to print hard copies of everything so we have it, and I know they would love to see who said what about them in years to come. It just takes a sec so leave them when you can! Also, in the near future we're going to migrate to our own website so we don't have to worry about blogspot ever crashing or ceasing to exist. We would lose everything we've put into this, and, even though blogspot is free it is not worth the loss. We'd be devastated. So we're currently researching how to get our own site. Their will be more details when we have them. Thanks!

Day 8 and 9-Jenn, Pete and Abby, and Auntie Lulu and Uncle Billy

MAKE SURE TO CHECK OUT ALL THE POSTS. I LISTED EACH DAY SEPARATELY!

We planned a day with my good friends Abby, Jenn, and Pete in NJ. The weather turned out perfect (again! we totally lucked out!), and we had a wonderful time at Jenn's house. We had a yummy BBQ and the girls played in the kiddie pool outside. Julia and Abby got along fantastic. They were holding hands, giving hugs, and playing ring around the rosy. Abby is potty training and every time she went on the potty she got 2 pennies to put in her piggy bank that sang Twinkle Twinkle. It was funny to see Julia cheering Abby on. She does not get she is going to be doing the exact same thing! Abby is one month to the day younger than Julia. Check out the height difference between them! Abby is long and lean and Julia short and well, a bit round, lol. She's retaining some of her baby fat to keep the wrinkles away!

After lunch we went to a little ice cream shop up the road that had the best ice cream! Julia enjoyed while Charlotte demanded another bite over and over, lol. Charlotte is our sweet tooth child! We were so sad to leave, but the excellent news is they are going to make it to Julia's 3rd b-day party so that is going to make Julia's day extra special! We are very excited!

We stayed overnight in a hotel and got up the next day, had breakfast, and made the trek to Auntie Lulu and Uncle Billy's. Poor Auntie Lulu-she buys all the presents and absolutely adores the girls. She had to fight Julia for a hug and kiss, but when Uncle Billy walks in Julia runs to him and gives him a hug. It is actually quite cute. We spent the day-another yummy BBQ dinner with pastries for dessert. Julia had a blast jumping on Auntie Lulu's bed and cuddling. After dinner Julia asked Uncle Billy to cuddle with her again. The Red Sox were playing. Poor Billy. He suggested they cuddle on the couch and watch the Red Sox, but she said "No, Uncle Billy, upstairs in the bed" and marched him upstairs. Thank goodness they have a tv in their room. At one point, both girls were in bed with them, and Chris and I were in the hall. We looked at each other and asked ourselves why we were still there. We should have made our getaway when we could!

Julia and Charlotte had so much fun with them, and they also enjoyed Sammy and Spencer, their dogs. Spencer is a big goof and really is wonderful with the girls. Sammy prefers to be left alone, lol.

Anyways, it was a perfect ending to a seemingly perfect vacation! We can't wait to do it again next year!

Day 7-Amish Country and Dutch Wonderland

Yet another fabulous day! The weather was perfect and we took a ride over to the Amish country(Lancaster, PA), and we took a ride on a horse buggy driven by a "used to be Amish" person, lol. We got to ride through a bunch of Amish farms and it was truly amazing and beautiful. Everyone had clothes hanging on their clotheslines and they were all the exact same thing since they all dress alike. And the Amish will now use cell phones saying they do not require electricity in the house (they will charge them in their bran though!) The highlight for Julia was riding in the covered wagon. We then went to an Amish restauarant and had a delicious Amish meal (chicken, mashed potatoes etc...). Julia did a funny thing. We were trying to get her to eat her chicken and mashed potatoes and other stuff. She was giving us a very hard time about eating (she wanted the buttered noodles but wasn't allowed to have them until she ate chicken. She finally ate a tiny amount of chicken. So we're at a long table with another family, and the waitress had us pass all the dishes down to clear the table. We were in the middle so everything passed us. I was grabbing the plate of sausage-not breakfast but not italian either-and as I grabbed for it Julia stuck her fork in a piece and devoured it. I never even considered that she would eat that! We got a kick out of her.

After the Amish experience we went to another amusement park called Dutch Wonderland What a spectacular park for little kids. It is all geared to about ages 7 and under, and Julia was ale to go on so many rides. She was so brave and went on this bus ride that brougt them up high then dropped them down, and then back up again (think Tower of Terror at Disney but for little kids!). You can see in the pic she is tiny compared to everyone else riding. And, she loved it! She also went on a roller coaster and gondolas that flew high up. She has no fear (yet she won't step into her room if it is dark)! They also had a water area that was nice. We probably would have thought it was great if we weren't comparing it to Sesame Place. There were no pools, but there were all kinds of fountains and water spouts and water slides which Julia wanted no part of! All in all we had another wonderful day.

**Note the hand on Julia's face. That is her new pose. She comes up to me like that and tells me to take her picture!"
