Dinner Fun!

We had some great friends over for dinner last night. Our best buds Jamie and Christine, and newer friends Kevin and Ann, and their two boys who are also 4 and 2. Their two year old, Eric, is one month older than Charlotte, and their 4 year old, Brendt, is 2 months younger than Julia. They had a LOUD ball together, and we're looking forward to many more get togethers. Chris works with Kevin at BAE.

Halloween 2009

The girls were celebrating Halloween at school today. They were extremely excited!

We brought Charlotte to Julia's class for a little bit. The kids were all dancing, and Charlotte was on the edge of the group. Julia stopped dancing, went over to Charlotte, and said "Charlotte, come dance!" and brought her into the group. So sweet!

Julia thoroughly enjoyed the donut game, of course, and while she was up there doing it the kids were chanting, "Go Julia! Go Julia!" It was priceless!

We can't wait for trick or treating tomorrow!

A Special Memory for Daddy

Last night I was in Charlotte's room putting her to bed. Julia was in her room getting ready for bed. Chris was putting her to bed.

She came into Charlotte's room, and with her arms folded across her chest said, "Daddy farted in my bed, and now it stinks!".

LOL!

LOL!

Last night I put Charlotte to bed. While reading to Julia, Charlotte was yelling out "Mommy, kitty!" which usually means there is a kitty locked in her room. She kept yelling it, but I was pretty sure both the cats were out. Finally, Julia says to me "I will go check on her" and gets down. I chuckled to myself thimking "ok, Mommy". So she opened Charlotte's door and says, "What is is Char Char?" Charlotte says "kitty". Julia yells to me asking if she can turn the light on. For whatever reason I said no. I heard Julia say to Charlotte, "Ok. I am really scared to do this, but I will check for you." She was going to check her room in the dark for the cat, and she was afraid, but she would do it. How freaking cute and sweet is that?!?! So, after she finds no cat she says, "there's no kitty in here. Go to sleep." She shuts Charlotte's door, and Charlotte goes to sleep!

Do I have the best girls ever, or what?

Then this am I was sleeping on the couch (Chris is away for work), and Julia came down around 5 (yippee). Around 6:30 Charlotte was crying, and I Julia asked me to go get her because her crying was giving her a headache! So I go get her, bring her down, ask her if she wants to cuddle with Julia on the couch which she does, and as I am putting her in Julia's arms Julia said to me, "Can you please get me the ice pack for my head? She gave me a headache."

LOL!

If looks could kill.......

We'd all be dead! It is unreal how much personality Charlotte has! She knows the right faces to make at the right times, and more often than not, when we're trying to reprimand her for something it is a battle not to allow ourselves to bust out laughing because she does something that she knows will make us laugh. She is a riot, and terror, lol.

She is very possessive of Mommy right now, and is fond of exclaiming, "My Mama!" to anyone who tries to hug or kiss me. She is starting to speak in sentences, and each day with her she does something new. One of her favorite things to do is call Bubbe on the phone, "I do it", and she holds the phone and says "Hello, Bubbe" and will talk to her. Then she holds the phone in front of her and says, "Bubbe in here" because she thinks Bubbe is in the phone! Then she will kiss the phone to kiss Bubbe and rock the phone like a baby and sing "You are My Sunshine" to it like I do to her every night. It is sooooooo cute. I need to get this whol thing on video.

The Ham got a Haircut

She was soo excited to have her haircut. She loves having it done. Daddy got a haircut, too. Daddy did not want her to have her haircut (he prefers long hair and cannot handle change, lol) so she kept joking with her saying she was not allowed to have it cut, and that it would hurt. "Daddy, I HAVE to get my haircut. I HAVE to. It won't hurt!".

Anyways, here she is posing for me afterwards, and do you think she is shy? Chris and I were dying at some of her poses, including one while she was lying on her belly and turned her head to look back over her shoulder. I laughed so hard I couldn't take the pic and missed the pose. She is such a ham!

Lesson of the Day

Julia is home sick today (cough and cold). We just went into the kitchen to get her a snack. She decided on peanut butter crackers which she wanted me to empty into a bowl. She held the bowl while I put them in and said, "We're doing teamwork, Mommy! Just like we do at school!". Too cute!

Well, it made perfect sense!

Chris had a conversation with Julia at bedtime that went like this....

J: "Daddy, why are your teeth crooked?"
D: "Because Memere and Poppie did not have the money to get them fixed when I was younger".
J: "Daddy, you should get them fixed."
D: "It costs a lot of money to get them fixed. If I get them fixed I won't be able to buy you Christmas presents. Should I get them fixed or buy you presents?"
J: "You should get them fixed. Mommy can buy me presents."

LOL!

Overdue pics....

I am behind. Here's some from the past fee weeks....

"Help Me"

This is a bittersweet request that Charlotte now uses when she, obviously, needs help with something.

What is bittersweet is that she is saying it correctly. We LOVED her saying "help YOU help YOU" whenever she needed help. She was always using "you" instead of me. Now that she says it correctly just means she is growing out of that baby stage. While watching her develop has been a blast, it all happens too fast. I want her to misuse her pronouns until I tell her I am ready for her to get it right, lol.

Charlotte loves loves loves jello. It makes her very happy, and even happier when she can get away with eating it with her hands. She will stare me dead in the eye while maneuvering her hand into her jello cup thinking I don't notice. It cracks us up!

We had a little incident last night-the first of its kind (except when Charlotte was born and Julia bit her toe!). I was at the sink, Charlotte was in her highchair, and Julia was in her chair. My back was to them while I was getting dinner ready (Chris is away on business). All of a sudden Charlotte was hysterically crying. I turn around, and she is holding her arm, and Julia was under the table (um, was someone guilty, lol?). So I said, "what happened!!?!?" And, Charlotte's arm was getting a red mark. Julia did not want to tell me, but finally admitted she pinched Charlotte because Charlotte was copying her! I was horrified she did that and put her in time out. I explained to her that her sister loves her and just wants to be like her. I'm not sure if it go through, or not. But, she knows I was MAD.

The real problem is going to be when Charlotte learns how to fight back. She is not going to leave Julia standing, lol. Luckily, for the most part, they get along fine. Fights are to be expected, and this was the first one in 2 years of Charlotte's life so I can't complain!

Such a great sister!

We went to Olive Garden for dinner the other night, and Charlotte was yelling out "roni" over and over. I think she thought she died and went to heaven seeing everyone around her eating macaroni which is her very favorite food.

The girls were in nice clothes which I did not want stained with spaghetti sauce (left the bibs at home) so I ordered them pizza where the mess is more manageable. Daddy got the never ending pasta bowl with meatballs so guess what they had for dinner? Roni! LOL

Charlotte was eating it with a spoon, and she ended up dropping it on the floor. She was fretting about it, and while I was looking for a waitress to get us a new spoon Julia said, "Charlotte, you can do it with your fork. Just scoop it up. Look." And, she showed her how to do it, and Charlotte did it! It was so cute!

The things she says!

It is VERY clear to us Julia is growing up (of course). But, her mannerisms, comments, and intelligence are all blossoming out of toddlerhood. It is bittersweet and SCARY!

The other night Chris put her to bed TOO LATE. It was past the window of opportunity with her. She was sitting on him playing her Leapster (pics to follow) while he watched football. He loves it, and I can't blame him for not wanting to put her to bed, but if the opportunity is missed it becomes tedious!

He finally put her to bed, and she came out multiple times. She knows just waht to say (have to go potty, need water) to enable her to live another night ;-). So, one time I went upstairs for something, and from her room she yells out "who is that". I said, "Mommy. Go to bed!" Of course, I hear what I expected-the thump as she slides down off her bed, and she opens the door to proclaim dire thrist. Fine. I give her a drink, threaten her life if she gets up again, and leave the room.

Later on I went back upstairs to go to bed myself! Again, "Who is that" comes through her door. "It's Mommy. Go to bed!".

Her reply:

(loud exasperated) "ARGGHHH! You again????"

LOL!
