Dear Julia,

The other night when we went to Bertucci's and had dinner with Bubbe you took disgusting to a whole new level. And, I know I have your father to thank for this.

Here is what you said:

"Mommy, do you smell that?"

Me: "Do I smell what?"

You: "I farted" (giggle)!

Gross!!!

But, you make me laugh! I love you!

Mommy

P.S. Can you please stop picking up ants because it skeeves me out!!!

New Format

I am not sure if anyone follows this, but all future posts will be written as letters to my girls. I was thinking it would be more fun for them to read when they are older.

To my girls,

I love you both soooooooooo much!

Love,
Mommy

Swimming in the Summer Time!

The girls have been swimming like fish this Summer! They are on their own in the pool with their swim vests, and they are having a ball. It is so nice to sit on the deck and not have to get in all the time with them! They both go under water, and Charlotte is more of daredevil than Julia. And, she will stand on the edge of the pool to jump in and hold her nose. When she jumps she ALWAYS throws both arms in the air so her nose is never plugged when she jumps in. It cracks us up every time! The pool has gotten more use this Summer than it has in the 4 years we have been here.

We also had a blast at Auntie Lulu's for her birthday and 4th of July celebration. The girls loved swimming with Lucy and Uncle Billy. We're not sure who had more fun!

I really really wish I had my camera!

This morning I was dropping Charlotte off at her classroom. When she walked in her little friend Gryffin came up and said, "Hi, Charlotte." She said, "Hi Gryffy" and she gave him a hug. So Keira Keira comes up and says hi to Charlotte, and Grffy says, "Charlotte is MY friend." So I said, "You are all friends!", and Charlotte takes one arm and wraps it around Keira and the other and wraps it around Gryffin and gives them both a hug. It was a love triangle and SOOOOOOOO cute!

Now, if only Charlotte practiced that sweetness when she was at home! lol

Summertime dinners on the deck :)

Memere and Poppie got the girls a combined b-day gift, and we're all loving it! So fun to have dinner on the deck at a table made for little kids!

Ouch!

The day of Julia's dance recital she was swimming in the pool, and she banged her foot on the stairs. She was crying and said it hurt, and she limped the rest of the day-including at her dance recital. When we got home after her recital and dinner and took her tights off we were shocked to see her foot so badly bruised. Yikes! I felt like a bad Mommy after seeing that! We thought, for sure, it was fractured or broken. She was limping all the next morning on the way to the doctor's office. She limped down the hall to the exam room. I helped her onto the exam table while we waited for the doc to come in.

He comes in and asks her to get down, and has her go into the hallway. He told her he wanted to see how fast she could run, and she bolted. He exclaimed, "Faster!", and she put all her effort into it, lol! We determined it was not broken-just badly bruised. Thank goodness! A cast in the Summer would have been a nightmare!

Karate Party

The girls had tons of fun at a friend's karate birthday party.

When we left Julia said, "Mommy, I recided." I said, "huh?". Again, she said, "I recided." I said, "What does that mean?" She said, "I recided I want to have a karate party for my birthday." I said, "Well, we already booked your bounce party!" She said, "Oh, ok." Lol. I think "recided" should be a real word!

My other gorgeous girl!

Could she be any more beautiful?

I am not biased ;-).

Dance Recital 2010

Julia did fantastic at her dance recital. Memere and Poppie and Auntie Lulu and Uncle Billy trekked up to watch her perform. The only major snafu was during their second performance the fire alarm in the auditorium went off. The entire place had to evacuate. It turned out someone forgot to add water to the hot dog machine! The next night Julia talked to Bubbe on the phone. Bubbe could not get out of work to make the show so she missed it (thank goodness we got video!). I was listening to Julia talk to Bubbe, and she said, "Bubbe, guess what!??! We were so hot the fire alarm went off." Love it!

Oh, and Charlotte was an angel and sat through the whole performance watching and intrigued. We had a great time and dined at Bertucci's afterwards.

Big Girl Bed!

After a few nights of falling out we finally got the rail up :). She loves the little cabinet at the head of the bed, and she sticks her blankie and sippy cup of water in there. She's been in it a few weeks now, and she is FINALLY understanding that when she wakes in the morning she can get up on her own and come into our room. For a while she was still calling out for us, but it finally clicked. Yaa! Now, we just need to work on her demeanor in the AM. She takes after Mommy, lol.

We love Memere and Poppie!
