Day One to Three of Vacation

We started our July 4th at Chris' aunt's house in RI. On July 5th we were supposed to go to Auntie Lulu and Uncle Billy's for Lulu's birthday/FOJ party, but she ended up not feeling well and postponed it til Sun July 6. Unfortunately we could not attend on that day, but we did make it over the evening of the 5th (lulu was feeling better) and had a great visit. Julia adores both of them so it is always fun to watch their interactions. They just got back from Disney and got the girls some adorable presents-Mickey hair clips, a bracelet, Princess towel (was perfect for our vacation), and a baby Minnie for Charlotte which she adores. She loved everything, of course!

That morning we took a ride to Southern RI and went to an old favorite jaunt of ours-Galilee. It's one of the last true fishing ports in the USA. It is the first time (hard to believe, really) we have every taken the girls down onto a beach and Julia went into the water a little bit. She was cautiously afraid, but loved it. With just a little prodding she walked in a bit holding Chris' hand. She wanted to go swimming (the water was FREEZING!) but we were not prepared. We had no swim suits and no towel which we had to buy to dry ourlegs and feet! But, we were thrilled to know Julia loved it so we'll be making more tips back to the ocean. Charlotte loves sitting in sand. She loves to eat it even more. YUCK!

Miss Charlotte was quite a trip this week! She has mastered the quivering lower lip pout, and the broken hearted cry when you tell her no (ya know-when she bites or hits!). On one particular incident we were staying at my in-laws (they were away), and Charlotte crawled over to the suitcase and started taking things out. Chris told her no, and she grabbed the suitcase while on her knees, put her head to the floor, and bawled. Julia runs over and tells Charlotte it's ok, and tries to put her new Mickey bracelet on her. She did succeed in calming Charlotte down. She is an incredible big sister!

On Sunday we were driving down to PA to our hotel and stopped in Stamford to visit our friends Wei and Ying. They just had their second baby boy, Brian, June 15, and Andy just turned 3. We had so much fun with them, as we always do, and the kids had a blast together. It took Andy a bit to warm up, but after a while he and Julia were having tons of fun. They have a battery operated car in their basement along with a trampoline (Julia's favorite thing!) so Julia was in her glory playing.

Enjoy some pics from our first three (check out the kiss between Julia and Andy. She even closed her eyes!).....more to come in next posts........
